Filming - land, marine, aerial, wildlife, history
I have a passion for wildlife, history, the sea, maritime related and observational documentary work. I love telling real stories that show endeavour, acheivement, evolution or personal experiences. I also undertake corporate filming to advertise services and educational work training or presenting my work and expeditions.
Stock Footage
I have a lot of footage of the Isles of Scilly, Malvern, and Worcestershire and build this constantly. Seals, Dolphins, Basking Sharks, International rowing events, news interviews, historic wrecks, crustaceans, aerial film, boat films, transport and many other things.
Location Support
Anywhere, anytime, any kit mine or yours. I specialise in knowledge of Scilly but can learn and adapt to provide anything. Active, experienced and able to solve problems I quickly learn , reach out, make contacts and get you the facilities, locations, knowledge or contacts you need. From transporting kit, to filming and research, to fixing problems I aim to be flexible and have a few very useful contacts. I also specialise in foreshore and inshore wildlife and creatures with 18 years experience of wondering the costs and learning the difference between a velvet swimming crab and a broad clawed porcelain crab. A Rock goby and a Tompot Blenny. I have contacts with gyrostabilised helicopters, light aircraft, boats and light aircraft from Cornwall to Birmingham and can advise on any requirements. I have also been diving for over 14 years and are a BSAC advanced diver and TDI trimix diver with gas blending, boat handling, and other qualifications with HSE compliance available if advanced warning given. This provides an understanding of requirements for both planning, skills, support and training.
Engineering
I have worked on camera housings, ROVs, robot observation cameras one off side scan sonar development for archaeology customers, mounts, fixings and control systems.
Graphics
Now, solely, using the latest cinema 4D R12, I have concentrated my skills on one package to improve my application and divide my time less. C4D R12 Visualize offers near photo realistic rendering, architectural and building conceptualisation, illustration using sketch and toon shaders, a net render facillity to speed up customer delivery by splitting work off to a network render farm and all the standard but improved tools seen elsewhere. This combined with a good animation capability, the ATS plug in giving realistic sea effects and a future upgrade to Studio giving motion graphics and further animation support provides a powerful but quick capability. Photoshop adds to this to help texturing and after effects completes the deal providing compositing and effect provision. With this package also complemented by Vue for scenery sculpting anything is possible from recreating pottery from sherds as seen above, animating lines on maps, compositing old buildings on pictures, cannons(below) and wreck swimthroughs. Animated titling, model explanations, educational resources and effects such as fog, snow, rain, fire and explosions are made simple. I specialise in simple but educational reconstructions, illustrations and animation of hard surface models i.e. non organic if possible.
