Scilly Gig Week

Every year during the April/May bank holiday, the Peaceful island of St Marys on the Isles of Scilly is transformed into a bussling hive of activity as they play host to the International World Pilot Gig Championships.

This year is the 22nd World championship and 130 Gigs have been arriving in small numbers for the past few weeks. Dutch, French, Cornish, Welsh and many others have joined in the championships by raising funds and sending their best male and female teams to compete for the trophy.
